Scope of Position

To be responsible under the direction of Nursery Manager or their representative for the supporting of a hearing impaired child within a nursery setting.  Work with nursery staff to support the learning, education progress and inclusion of a child with a hearing impairment, with the aim of closing any attainment gap they have with their hearing peers on entry to school.  

Give assistance to the child with a hearing impairment so that they can access the curriculum through a variety of communication methods as required.  Also to assist the child to participate in learning, experience a sense of achievement and develop independence in learning and other aspects of nursery life.

Worcester - Nursery Manager (Maternity cover)

Shooting Stars Nurseries Worcester are recruiting a Nursery Manager.  This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic nursery manager to lead a team of 16 staff.

 

Shooting Stars Nurseries Worcester is a 75 place day nursery, operating Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6pm.  The nursery is currently undergoing a gradual refurbishment to enhance the quality of the setting and the facilities and resources available.   

 

Initially this role is a temporary position to cover a period of maternity leave, from December 2017 for a period of approximately 9 months.  Shooting Stars Nurseries is an ambitious childcare provider, with an ongoing determination to grow.  For the right applicant, this role has the potential to become a permanent role, within the Company at an alternative site once this temporary period has lapsed.

 

Scope of Position

To oversee the operation of the day nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and the highest quality of care and teaching is delivered at all times.  To also ensure that children make good progress from their starting points and that the team are supported to have an aspirational vision for children’s progress, in accordance with Shooting Stars Nurseries Policies and Procedures

 

Qualifications
Essential: Minimum NVQ level 3 in Early Years’ Education or equivalent;  Previous management experience in a nursery setting (minimum of two years post qualifying experience)


Desirable: Any professional related qualification (Foundation Degree, EYPS, EYTS); Basic Food Hygiene; Paediatric First Aid

 

Experience
Essential: Previous management experience in a nursery setting (minimum of two years post qualifying experience); Excellent knowledge of Ofsted statutory framework and EYFS requirements
