Wolverhampton - Toddlers Go on a Bear Hunt

Wolverhampton - Toddlers Go on a Bear Hunt

Toddlers have been doing lots of activities around 'We're going on a bear hunt', which is our favourite story. So we decided to get creative and make our own 'narrow Gloomy cave' in our snuggly area as well as a 'Swirling Whirling Snowstorm' in the water tray.
EYFS:
Literacy-Listens to and joins in with stories and poems, one to one and also in small groups. 30-50 months.

When we went into the garden, we asked if we could make a cave for the bear. We helped the adults to hold the tarpaulin up and told them how high up to go. We also helped by holding the poles up and rolling out a carpet for us to sit on.

Communication and Language- Responds to simple instructions. 30-50 months.

After we had created our cave, we enjoyed sitting in it singing songs and reading stories. We asked the adults "could we have a teddy bears picnic please?" So put this request in our daily email to parents to remind the children to bring in bears from home. We then had lots of fun at a teddy bears picnic the following day in our cave.

After a busy few days playing in the cave and eating lots of lovely food at our tea party, our bears were very sleepy so joined us for our afternoon nap!
EYFS:
Personal, Social and Emotional Development- Responds to feelings and wishes of others. 22-36 months.
