Hinckley - November 2017 Newsletter

Dear Parents,

The last month has been very busy at Nursery with lots of Halloween and bonfire events taking place - from parties and camp fires to trick and treating. The children have been very excited, especially seeing all the staff in fancy dress costumes. Thank you to all the parents and children that entered our annual pumpkin competition, we had so many creative ideas which made the children giggle. Well done to everyone

Children’s Reptiles Meeting
We held our reptiles meeting with a small group of children from Pre-School 2. The children are very interested in talking about animals at the moment. They have said they would like some fish in the room along with some snakes and alligators – I think we will stick with the fish. We have introduced the children to helping us to do a morning garden check. All the children were very aware it is to keep us safe although one child told us it was because of the wild animals. We have told the children if they are really good we will arrange a visit for a lady to come along with some animals (Animal Tastics) we will keep you posted.

Shooting Star of the Month
This month our Shooting Star goes to Lucy in the Toddler room. She has been nominated for her great teamwork from six other staff in the team. Well done Lucy.

If you feel that one of our staff team stands out, or has gone the extra mile and you wish to nominate them, please see Michelle or Jenny for a nomination slip.

Staff News and updates
We are pleased to welcome Rebecca who joins the Shooting Stars family our new Pre-School 2 Room Leader. She has lots of new ideas to put into place. Rebecca is currently in talks with Churchmead Court residential living, which is located at the back of the nursery - we are planning to take the older children on trips to see the residents.

Child Holiday requests
We would just like to take the opportunity to remind our families that once your child has attended the nursery for a year, you can request up to two weeks holiday at 50% discount. You can either take two weeks on one occasion or take two separate weeks when 2 months’ notice is given. Don’t miss out, so please ask either Michelle or Jenny for a holiday booking form or to find out more

Parent Nursery Development Group
Thank you for your replies to our recent parent development group survey. We have gone through all your responses and our next meeting will be held on the 22nd November. We hope you will come and join us.

New Menus
We now have our new Autumn and Winter menus in place. If you would like a copy of the menus, please let Michelle or Jenny know and we can either email you them or print you a copy.

If you have any small baby clothes you no longer need we would love them for our dolls. The children in our Pre-School rooms are really keen on dressing them up and taking them out for walks
